February 2 In Full View

A man’s ways are in full view of the lord, and He examines all his paths. ~Proverbs 5:21

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there, Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even there, darkness will not be dark to You. The night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You. ~Psalm 139:7-12

Happy Ground Hog Day! Whether or not the little critter sees his shadow, the Lord always sees us!

When we are doing well, that is a comforting thought. When we’re not doing so well, we wish we could hide. Any cover we may wish we could use wouldn’t work any better than the fig leaf worked for Adam and Eve. We think we’re so clever. We think we’re hiding, but we’re not. However, consider, isn’t that an expression of how much He loves us? He never turns His back on us. There is never a moment that He doesn’t care. I can remember times in our parenting, when the kids were still under our roof that Kathy and I would just have to step out on the porch for a conversation, or a moment, just to get away from the stress. Of course, in those moments, our attention waned, but that is not our Heavenly Father. He’s always paying attention, to detail! He’s not just present, like the times a parent tries to read in the same room as playing children. No, He’s tuned in, for better or for worse! I can’t even begin to comprehend how He does it, noticing everybody and everything, but that’s our God! Isn’t it amazing?

Even more amazing, He does not tire from us or get stressed out by our silliness. He loves us through it all. May we simply praise Him today for being so caring, so attentive and so awesome. As you worship today, know that God is watching you. He is your audience. Let Him see you giving Him all the praise He deserves!

And be comforted by Zephaniah’s description, Zephaniah 3:17: “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Prayer: Oh, thank you Jesus! It is very good for me that the God who truly sees all that I am loves me no matter what! What a blessed mercy it is to have You for a Father! Thank you too, for all my brothers and sisters in this divine family through faith in Jesus our Savior God. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Mark 7:15 Approximately six hundred years before Jesus, the people of Judah had sinned so badly by ignoring the word of the Lord that God allowed them to be punished by being destroyed by the Babylonians. Jerusalem was completely ruined. Many of the citizens were killed and only a relatively few, referred to as "the remnant," were carried off to live in Babylon for 70 years before being allowed to return and begin again. This event proved to be a real wake up call for the people. The priests and Levites developed an extensive list of rules and regulations by which the people were to live that would outline very clearly how not to break the Ten Commandments again, or any of the whole Law, or "Torah," from Moses in the first five books of the

Spiritual Warfare

Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-18 Listen Link:  http://www.firstcovenantcadillac.org/#!this-weeks-sermon/c20mw There’s a war on! And it’s not overseas. I am not talking about the war on terrorism. I am talking about the war in which your heart is the battle ground. It is a war between spiritual forces of good and evil. The victory is ours in Christ. The battle belongs to the Lord. But we are called to play our part. That is why Paul instructs believers like you and me to “be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”  The life of discipleship gives us no time to relax and live our lives ignoring the spiritual battle. We are ordered to fight. It’s not a pleasant metaphor these days. But Paul had no qualms about telling Christians to be good soldiers, prepared for battle. Even when we do take a Sabbath and rest in the Lord, it is only so that we made ready for the next battle. But this kind of battle won’t wear us out if we are strong in the lord. In fact, we will rejoice! This is not a gr
