July 31 Goof Off Goose

July 30 Jealous for Us

Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy? ~Proverbs 27:4  “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, showing love to a thousand (generations) of those who love Me and keep My commandments.” ~Exodus 20:2-6  Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell my people this: “You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven. July 29 Fresh Water!

The words of the mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. ~Proverbs 18:4 The tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in god’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. July 28 “Sorry”

When wickedness comes, so does contempt, and with shame comes disgrace. ~Proverbs 18:3 You rebuke and discipline men for their sin. You consume their wealth like a moth—each man is but a breath. SELAH! Hear my prayer, O Lord, listen to my cry for help. Be not deaf to my weeping. For I dwell with You as an alien, a stranger, as all my fathers were. Look away from me, that I may rejoice again before I depart and am no more. ~Psalm 39:11-13  Godly sorrow leads to repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, But worldly sorrow brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:7  I remember, when our children were young, teaching them to apply the word, “Sorry.” I think most parents know that children need to be taught to apologize. At first, it’s just a word, like a band aid. We pray they also learn the correct attitude that makes apologies more sincere. July 27 Integrity Anyway

Son, it is not good to punish an innocent person, or to flog officials for their integrity. ~Proverbs 17:26  The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” ~Luke 23:47  Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear. Do not be frightened. But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. It is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. July 26 Time for A Wellness Check Up

July 25 Hold on To His Promises

July 23 Stewards, Not Owners

A man lacking in judgment strikes hands in pledge and puts up security for a neighbor. ~Proverbs 17:18  Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. July 22 Be A Friend

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. ~Proverbs 17:17  Better is open rebuke than hidden love. July 21 See You in Court

Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent, the Lord detests them both. ~Proverbs 17:15  A false witness will not go unpunished, and the one who pours out lies will not go free. ~Proverbs 19:5  To show partiality in judging is not good: Whoever says to the guilty, “you are innocent”—peoples will curse him, and nations denounce him. But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them. ~Proverbs 24:24-25  You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. ~Exodus 20:16  Do not spread false reports. Do not help a wicked man by being a malicious witness. Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd, and do not show favoritism to a por man in his lawsuit. ~Exodus 23:1-3  Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuit. Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death, and I will not acquit the guilty. ~Exo
