June 7 He Sees

The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. ~Proverbs 15:3

The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. ~2 Chronicles 16:9

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there. If I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me. Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to You. The night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You. ~Psalm 139:7-12

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His Holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You. ~Psalm 33:18-22

I find great comfort in knowing that nothing is hidden from my Heavenly Father. He sees the good. Unfortunately, he also sees my failures, but He loves me through them, unconditionally. Even the darkness is light to Him because He is the light itself. He sees it all and never stops seeking us out, pursuing us, to bless us for His glory.

It is also comforting to me to know that He sees the wicked. Only they are fooled into thinking that no one sees. Only they are fooled into thinking that they will get away with their evil. God sees all that too. He sees the offenses that have been done to you. He sees how you have been hurt and wounded. He may be allowing it to make you better, but He assures us that the evil done to us will not be forgotten by Him.

There will be a reckoning one day. “The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” “But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.” The famine could be physical, or it could be spiritual, but His eyes will never leave you. He will give you strength when you ask for it and He has already delivered you from death through His own death on the cross.

He will never abandon you to evil! Whether you worship at home today, or gather with others, bring with you the joy of knowing that His eyes are on you. He is smiling and encouraging you. He loves you.

It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury—how much less for a slave to rule over princes! ~Proverbs 19:10   On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people.
