May 27 We Win!

Evil will bow down in the presence of good, and wickedness at the gates of the righteous. ~Proverbs 14:19

Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; I am God, and there is no other. By Myself I have sworn. My mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked. Before Me every knee will bow. by Me every tongue will swear. They will say of Me, “in the Lord alone are righteousness and strength.” All who have raged against Him will come to Him and be put to shame. But in the Lord, all the descendants of Israel will be found righteous and will exult.” ~Isaiah 45:22-24

God exalted Him, (Jesus), to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ~Philippians 2:9-11

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” ~Revelation 5:11-12

Isn’t it awesome! We win! The day is coming when evil WILL bow down to rise no more! “Hallelujah!” Yesterday, when we were talking about anger, we said that anger can never win. How wonderful to know that it won’t in the end. All the evil that we see around us now in the seen world, is intended to discourage us and cause us to lose hope, but the seen world is built on sand. When the storms come, it is swept away.

Our hope is not in the seen world. We trust in someone greater who, though unseen, is always present. Our hope is in The Rock, Jesus, who is our sure foundation! “Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1) Right now, we do not see the victory, but we can be sure of it because God has promised it.

We have not seen the actual cross either. No one has after those who lived during that day. But we know that it is real, a fact of history. In that cross, victory was sealed for all eternity. Satan knows this and that makes him rage all the more. He is the hot-tempered fool that is bent on destroying all that he can. But God, is the wise parent and creator who has set satan’s limits. He allows satan to consume the dross, the wood, hay, and stubble, but only so that the gold and silver of believers will shine all the brighter.

Satan knows that he can’t really do whatever he wants. He knows that he is on God’s tether. He flails and grasps at whatever he can, the way and angry dog pulls at his leash, barking and growling, but powerless beyond his reach. God has tamed him and will only allow him to do that which benefits God in the end. In the end, satan will be found at Jesus’ feet and satan himself will say, “My Lord and my God,” because that is what God is, satan’s master.

It will be the first time that the father of lies will be forced to speak a truth before he is destroyed forever! Our hope is not in a mask, or social distancing, or in a strategy or in an earthly future. Our hope is in Jesus and in Him, no matter what happens here on earth, we win in Christ. Evil will bow down before the righteous, those who are found in Christ! “Alleluia!”

Prayer: Thank You Lord! Thank You and praise you forever and ever! I rejoice that I know now what will always be true and will become obvious when you come again. Thank You for faith in such good news that I can’t contain myself and must share with those who need hope. In Jesus; name, amen.

211. The Sons of Thunder's Request

Matthew 20:20-28 , Mark 10:35-45 , Key verse: "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all." Mark 10:43B-44 In our readings for yesterday, in which Jesus outlined what was about to happen to Him, for His disciples, the passage in Luke ends: "The disciples did not understand any of this. It's meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what He was talking about." ( Luke 18:34 ) Now, we see just how truly clueless they were. Jesus had laid out a plan before them of pain and suffering and death and now James and John are focused on a promotion. The disconnect is so obvious. It's really not important to know whether James and john came up with this request on their own or if their mother put them up to it. The request was made and James and John thought that they could handle the responsibility that would come with it. What is that saying, "Fools rush in where angels fe...

204. Come Like a Child

Psalm 127 , Matthew 19:13-15 , Luke 18:15-17 , Mark 10:13-16 Key Verse: Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14 The attitude of the disciples isn't much different than the attitude of many people, even Christians, today. Instead of seeing children as a blessing from the Lord, too many regard them as a burden to bear that gets in the way of our own selfish happiness. Family size is determined by what we think we can afford rather than openness to God's blessing, trusting God to provide. Satan hates children. Children represent innocence. The sooner he can corrupt and or damage a child, the happier he is. This is why Jesus warned in Matthew 18:6: "If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drown in the depths of the sea." To corrupt or damage ...

174. Pleading for the Fig Tree

Proverbs 27:18 , Luke 13:6-9 Key Verse: He who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who looks after his master will be honored. Proverbs 27:18 We have here three main characters: a master, who acquired the tree in hopes of eventually enjoying its fruit, a servant, who looks to the tree to reflect his care and attention, and lastly, the tree itself. The master has the right to expect his investment to pay off. The servant, who has obviously put much effort into the tree, would also like to see fruit. The servant's interest is not only to show his own talent in gardening, but because he wants to please his master. Both the servant and the master are dependent upon the tree to do what it was designed to do. Their little parable is an interesting way for Jesus to finish off His exhortation to, "repent or perish."  God is the Master. He had a purpose for you before you were even born. ( Jeremiah 1:5 & Psalm 139:16 ) He planted you on this earth to ful...
